Conference Matters international

Amsterdam will again host IoT Tech Expo Europe, which takes place at RAI Amsterdam on 19 and 20 October 2026 as part of the wider TechEx Europe cluster of co-located events. Registration has opened, with free exhibition access and paid delegate passes for the conference programme.
The organisers have structured this edition around four themes: industrial AI and autonomous operations; connectivity, infrastructure and smart cities; edge AI and real-time intelligence; and IoT security and embedded systems. The framing reflects a shift in the sector's centre of gravity: away from simply connecting devices and towards systems that interpret data and act on it locally, in real time, under tightening cybersecurity rules.
Speakers are drawn from manufacturing, automotive, logistics and critical infrastructure, among them Schneider Electric, Bosch, Volvo Group, BMW Group, Renault Group, Capgemini, NXP Semiconductors, Infineon Technologies, Emerson, Electrolux Group and DHL Supply Chain. More than 200 speakers are expected across the full TechEx Europe programme.
Michael Hughes, Head of Conference at TechEx Events, said the agenda was built around the deployment problems organisations are facing at present, with the aim of showing delegates "not just what's next, but what's working today".
For association executives assessing the Netherlands, the pairing of subject and location is instructive. Delegates in this field can reach the country's own industrial-technology base without leaving the region: NXP Semiconductors is headquartered in Eindhoven, the Brainport region concentrates high-tech manufacturing and semiconductor equipment supply, and Rotterdam and Schiphol anchor a logistics sector that is itself an early adopter of connected and autonomous operations.
That proximity supports the site visits, technical tours and local-chapter recruitment that rotating congresses increasingly rely on to justify a destination choice.
RAI Amsterdam's own credentials are relevant to the same calculation: a single venue capable of holding co-located conferences and an exhibition floor simultaneously, roughly 15 minutes from Schiphol by rail.
